March Athlete of the Month: Jenny Kralovetz

Jenny is one of those members that is an absolute dream to train. She gets to work. She doesn’t complain. She’s not afraid to get dirty or rip her hands. She never misses a class and she always arrives early. She has made steady improvements since she joined Incendia. She pushes herself every single time she walks into the gym….and usually ends up with one of the top times on the whiteboard. She is motivating, accountable and strong. Did I mention that Jenny is only 15 years old?

You’ve probably seen Jenny at the 4:30 pm class, accompanied by the Biggest Guy in the Gym (aka her dad). Jenny and Don joined together, back when we first opened in November. She was our youngest athlete at the time and we weren’t sure what to expect. Jenny has knocked our socks off! Watching Jenny’s success over the last few months has inspired us to create a Student-Athlete Program so that teens can get involved in CrossFit at Incendia.

We have high hopes for Jenny’s future in the sport of CrossFit. We can clearly see her as a Games Athlete in a few years if she continues her training. We are excited to watch her grow, as an athlete and as a teen. Congratulations, Jenny!

When Did you start CrossFit?

I started a couple of months ago, in November.

Why Did you start CrossFit?

I started CrossFit because I stopped playing volleyball and wanted to do something fun that would keep me active and in shape. My dad had been thinking about doing CrossFit so we decided to join together.

What kept you coming back/motivated?

All the friendly people at the gym kept me wanting to come back and it is such a rewarding feeling after you finish a hard workout. I also wanted to see how much I could improve and learn new things.

What is the best thing you have gotten out of doing CrossFit?

One of the best things is definitely just being more in shape and fit, but I really like that it gives me something to work for and now I am able to push myself harder than I ever thought I could.

What is the one thing you have done here that you never thought you could do?

I never thought I would be able to keep up with all the other people in the class and I’m able to. Competing against everyone else for time really motivates me to do my best.

What is one goal you have reached? And one goal you still hope to reach?

One goal I’ve reached is double-unders. I’m working on kipping pull-ups and I’m almost there, but I need to keep working on it and I hope I will be able to do them consistently.

How has your diet changed since starting CrossFit?

My diet has changed because I’ve been trying to eat extra healthy, I don’t want all my workouts to go to waste!

What do you tell your friends about CrossFit?

I tell them that it is really fun and challenging and they should try it out!

Additional comments/anything you’d like to add:

I love CrossFit Incendia and joining was a really great decision for me:) I hope I keep improving and maybe even do competitions one day!
