FIRE ROASTED CROCKPOT BEEF
By Brian
Have you tried the Costco “Stew Meat?” It’s pretty amazing. (Adriane turned me me on to it. If you’ve ever been lucky enough to eat at Adriane’s house, you know to listen to her when it comes to food. That girl can COOK). We can get two crockpots full of the meat in one package (which costs about $20). I found a similar recipe on John Welbourn’s “Talk to Me Johnnie” website and I’ve tweaked it a little bit. Measurements are approximate. I kinda just throw everything in. Try this recipe! Trust me….it’s a good one.
Ingredients
Stew Meat from Costco
1/2 jar of Sprouts Organic Fire Roasted Salsa
7 oz can of diced green chilis
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 – 1 tablespoon sea salt
1 teaspoon of chili powder
1 teaspoon of pepper
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
1 medium onion
½ cup of water
Directions
Brown the garlic and onions in a pan with some coconut oil and add to crock pot.
Sear the stew meat for a few minutes. Put into crock pot.
Deglaze the pan with the water and pour into crock pot.
Pour salsa, diced green chiles, onion, cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper into crock pot.
Stir up the ingredients.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Serves: 1 (In the Vayda House)
I’ve heard great things about this recipe! I’m going to have to try it.
