Quite simply, CrossFit 101 is the beginner version of our advanced CrossFit Classes.
If you are new to CrossFit, we start you in CrossFit 101. We will teach you Olympic Lifts, CrossFit Movements and Gymnastic Skills in a non-intimidating, low-pressure environment — all while helping you achieve a level of fitness you never thought possible. We designed this slow and steady approach to help prevent injuries that can occur when lifting heavy load before an athlete is ready and to help athletes feel better prepared for some of the complex workouts programmed into our advanced CrossFit Classes.
The amount of time you spend in CrossFit 101 is completely up to you and your skill set. You may have a CrossFit background and just need a refresher in your Oly Lifts or you may have never touched a barbell before. That is ok. We’ll help you progress at your individual rate so that you can move to CrossFit quickly or stay in CrossFit 101 forever. It’s your choice. This is your fitness program and your goals determine your personal path.
The general CrossFit 101 structure involves Strength/Skill Training with short, intense workouts on Tuesdays/Thursdays/Sundays and longer Metabolic Conditioning pieces on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays. Saturday classes are FREE and open to all adults who wish to learn about CrossFit and CrossFit Incendia.
If you are a CrossFitter with less than three months current CrossFit experience, we’ll ask you to drop into a CrossFit 101 Class your first time at Incendia so we can evaluate your movements and discuss your goals. Although appropriate for beginners, CrossFit 101 is not easy so come prepared to push yourself and get a great workout.
